In addition to a distinguished academic career and major scientific contributions to the field of immunology, Dr. Glimcher has had a career-long commitment to the development of scientist trainees and mentoring. Her dedication to trainees’ success has resulted in a cadre of successful scientists across the spectrum of the science enterprise and the establishment of lifelong friendships.

AAI-DANA FOUNDATION AWARD IN HUMAN IMMUNOLOGY RESEARCH
For significant and sustained achievement in immunology research pertinent to human disease pathogenesis, prevention, and therapy

James P. Allison, Ph.D., HHMI, Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center
http://www.mskcc.org/mskcc/html/50929.cfm

In receiving this award, Dr. Allison is recognized for the quality and breadth of his research accomplishments in elucidating mechanisms of T cell biology and regulation and the impact those studies have had on the broad field of human immune therapy. This work has contributed significantly to the design of research and clinical trials that directly address regulatory aspects of the human immune response to tumors.

  AAI-INVITROGEN MERITORIOUS CAREER AWARD
For outstanding research contributions to the field of immunology

Richard A. Flavell, Ph.D., FRS, HHMI, Yale University School of Medicine
http://info.med.yale.edu/immuno/fac_flavell.html

Dr. Flavell’s outstanding contributions to the field of immunology have fundamentally advanced our knowledge and understanding of the immune system through identification, characterization, and exploration of the roles of a variety of cell molecules involved in both innate and adaptive immune responses. The extraordinary quality of his scientific contributions and dedication to the field merit him this prestigious career award.

  AAI-BD BIOSCIENCES INVESTIGATOR AWARD
For outstanding, early-career research contributions to the field of immunology

Pamela L. Schwartzberg, M.D., Ph.D., National Human Genome Research Institute, NIH
http://www.genome.gov/10001130

As an early career scientist Dr. Schwartzberg has made high impact observations in the broad field of T cell signaling. Her work utilizes genetic and biochemical approaches to dissect signaling pathways in T cells and determine the roles these pathways play in lymphocyte development and function. On the basis of both her accomplishments to date and her promise of success in the future, Dr. Schwartzberg is selected to receive this notable award.
